Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center
Successful masterplanning encourages the creation of great places. Anderson Krygier’s Exterior Sign Masterplan for the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center followed through on the architect’s initial vision for the entire campus by identifing movement patterns, relating physical signage forms to building forms, and matching scale to context. Monument signs on major thoroughfares, for example, needed to be especially strong and sophisticated to establish their required presence. Green porcelain enamel boxes wrap around sleek black ovoid pylons, reflecting architectural details and heralding the site.
